We haven't posted in a while, but are back right in time for the new year! It is rapidly approaching and with that (for those of us in the Midwestern states) means the influx of cold weather.  We know how hard it can be to dress warm but still stay stylish. What better time to try the leather/faux leather trend than now? This trend seems to be here to stay and is even carrying over into the spring months. We have a lot of reasonably priced leather items available in store and from time to time on our Ebay Page  This post however features a few faux leather pieces we feel you need to have in your wardrobe.

• Why We Love It: They have cool embellishments or textures. Why faux leather? it protects our feel from the wet and cold that can come with the late winter early spring months.  

• Levine's Tip: People automatically rock their boots with jeans or pants. Think out side of the box. You As much as we love our summer pumps once the snow hits the ground they become a hazard. Swap them out for a killer pair of boots without sacrificing style. Pair these with a body con skirt/dress and edgy jacket for something less expected.

• Why We Love It:  For Those of us that work or need professional attire, this piece is much needed and takes the "plain" and "boring" out of your work wardrobe. The leather adds a different texture to the typical work attire.

• Levine's Tip: Make sure you aren't picking club wear when looking for that perfect pencil skirt. It should be finger tip length and the appropriate tightness. If you have to question it, make sure to wear tights. Go for mixed media (different fabrics) like the skirt featured above or try bold colors like the one below.

Want to make it more of a dinner look layer it under a pencil skirt and your favorite blazer and cute pumps. The leather allows for versatility! The details in the other pieces you choose can be more simple because the leather adds an element of texture.

• Why We Love It: You cant go wrong with layering! The colder it gets the more layers you'll want to have. Who says that the layers shouldn't look good. 

• Levine's Tip:  Instead of your basic black go for something mixed media or in a cool print/color. When you wear this jacket you can swap out your blazer. Wear it over a dress or with an oxford short to create a juxtaposition between edgy and conservative.

The 90s are back in a big way! The things that we swore we would never wear again, we are desperately searching the internet and ransacking our local resale shops for . One of our favorites has the be the overall trend.  Think of it as a romper or a jumpsuit. Mind you, you should find the pair that works for you!

For this look, we opted for a pair of denim overall shorts, but there are so many different variations that you can use.  The top gives us a the ease of a T Shirt, but the print and material dresses up the look. A statement necklace and nude flats add the element of the unexpected. The necklace is a subdued gold and still has that old vintage feel. The flats make for something comfy, but they are still cute. You can't leave home with out your purse! We paired this look with a bold colored cross body bag. Nothing too over sized and overwhelming.
